The Concept2 Skinny blade tubes are made of high modulus carbon fiber, so they have a smaller diameter compared to the ultralight blade tube, thus providing a softer feel. Due to the small diameter, air resistance is also reduced, which can be even more significant in headwinds. The weight of the small diameter tubes is the same as the weight of the Ultralight tubes.
Smoothie2 is one of the most common pen shapes. The Smoothie was the first type of paddle pen that broke with the pen design usual for traditional wooden paddles. Smoothie2 is an improved, more stable version of the original 1996 Smoothie mold.
